Count seats, then add spares

The working number is one dauber per seat plus a basket of spares at the desk. Regulars bring their own lucky colors, but every night surfaces a newcomer, a forgotten tote or a bottle that finally ran dry mid-session.

Mixed-color dozens are built for this. A dozen covers a table cluster with a full rainbow, players grab a shade they like, and the desk basket absorbs the surprises.

Sort the caddies before doors open

Color-matched sleeves make the sort fast: stand the bottles in the caddy, spin them label out, done. A tidy caddy also ends the mid-game rummage where somebody at seat four holds up the whole table hunting for purple.

If your hall runs specialty nights, keep the party inks in their own caddy. Glitter and glow bottles that live apart from the everyday colors survive the season with far less mystery attrition.

Stage the specials

Cosmic night needs the Super Bright bottles out and the black lights tested before the first card sells. Holiday sessions earn a Dazzle basket at the desk. Announce the special ink at the door and half the room upgrades on the spot, which the fundraiser ledger will notice.

The desk kit

A roll of scrap paper for test dabs, a couple of replacement tips, one mini as the emergency loaner and a marker for the lost-and-found shelf. It all fits in a shoebox and it retires ninety percent of dauber emergencies before they reach the caller.
